The Boys Choir of Harlem was my first freelance assignment in 1980. They turned out to be one of the most long lasting as well. I photographed them in the classroom, at summer camp, in concert and on the road. I travelled with them throughout the midwest and to Jamaica. The level of discipline and achievement reached under the very able direction of their creator,Walter Turnbull, impressed me tremendously.
